A Different Kind of Valentine’s Day: Come Be with Us

Valentine’s Day can feel complicated after loss.

What was once a day of flowers, cards, and cherished traditions can suddenly feel hollow. Or worse—inescapably lonely.

But at WH Cornerstone, we believe that love doesn’t disappear. It changes. It evolves. And in the quiet space that grief leaves behind, something else begins to grow: community, courage, and connection.

That’s why we invite you—whether it’s your first Valentine’s Day as a widow or your fifteenth—to join us for an afternoon of remembrance, strength, and sisterhood.

Our Annual Rise Up Widows Valentine’s Luncheon is more than just a meal. It’s a soft place to land.

What to Expect

We’re gathering in the historic warmth of the Sun Tavern in Duxbury—a cozy, upscale farmhouse just south of Boston that feels more like a friend's kitchen than a restaurant. You’ll enjoy a delicious three-course meal, meaningful conversation, and the company of women who “get it.”

We’ll reflect together using gentle prompts from Rise Up: A Widow’s Journal—a tool created to help women process grief, rediscover their voice, and honor their path forward. Whether you’re someone who loves to share or prefers to simply listen, you are welcome just as you are.

The luncheon is hosted by Paula Harris, co-founder of WH Cornerstone Investments, and someone who has walked alongside many women as they navigate life after loss. She brings wisdom, warmth, and an unwavering belief in your ability to rise again.

When: Friday, February 13th, 2026
Time: 12:00–2:30 pm
Where: Sun Tavern, 500 Congress St, Duxbury, MA
Cost: None—this is our gift to you.

The registration deadline is February 3rd, 2026. Register Here.

Why We Created This Event

In our work with widows—whether helping untangle financial decisions or simply sitting in shared silence—we’ve learned something powerful: connection heals.

Grief often isolates. Friends don’t always know what to say. Family might urge you to “move on.” But among other women who’ve experienced profound loss, there’s no need to explain. You are understood before you say a word.

As one past attendee shared,

“This was a lovely luncheon. Great food, great company, and great conversation. It was very therapeutic to hear similar stories that we are all experiencing.”

Another added,

“I learned many ways to help myself deal with my grief by listening to other women share their experiences.”

We’re humbled that these gatherings have become a tradition—something to look forward to each year, even during a season that might otherwise feel heavy.

From Our Hearts to Yours

At WH Cornerstone, we’ve always said: Your future can still be greater than your past.

If you’re ready for a moment of peace, a bit of laughter, and the kind of conversation that stays with you long after the plates are cleared, we hope you’ll join us. Come for yourself, or come for the woman you’re becoming.

We’ll be waiting with open arms.

Space is limited and fills quickly—because while grief may be part of your story, so is resilience. And that deserves to be celebrated.
